Preambles

Preambles

Tradition 4 states that – Each group should be autonomous except in matters affecting other groups or NA as a whole. This tradition helps accommodate variations in meeting format due to venue time constraints, day and time of the week, and for differences in local culture to a certain extent.

What this means is that as you go from meeting to meeting you may discover a variation in which  basic text preambles are used and specific changes to service members’ preambles.

Basic text preambles are the cornerstone of all readings at any meeting. Here are some you may find useful. Some groups colour code these to help keep track of them during the meeting, and help preamble junkies find the one they wish to read!

Also you may want to see how different meetings organise their preambles with some examples below.
